Farm Walk And Talk, Kildalton Agricultural College, Kilkenny
On Tuesday, 3rd of March the 5th year agricultural science class along with a group of TY’s got to experience various aspects of working life on a farm. They learned what type of feed is best for each animal, the different types of soil, what to grow in each one and how to add fertiliser.
They also got a chance to see the digestive system of a sheep and learn how to castrate and dock the tail of a lamb, along with seeing various breeds of cattle and plenty of machinery. It was a great day out and well worth the visit.
