Six secondary school students from Co. Kildare spent the day with TV3 & 3e for a VIP tour of the television studios and to brainstorm with creative experts and producers. The experience was part of a national prize which will see ‘Smoolicious’, an advert created by the team, transformed into reality and broadcast on national television by TV3 and 3e. The students got real life hands-on experience of the full development process for the advert, from storyboard creation through to execution. The day was an invaluable experience for any student hoping to embark on a career in the world of marketing.

The TY students from Ard Scoil na Tríonóide, Rathstewart, Athy, Co. Kildare won the top prize in National Dairy Council’s Milk It Awards in May 2014. The NDC educational programme sets out to help teenagers learn about the nutritional benefits of the ‘milk, yogurt and cheese’ food group in an engaging way against the background of a national survey which showed that 42% of Irish teenage girls and 23% of Irish teenage boys had insufficient calcium intakes.

The students from Ard Scoil na Tríonóide included Ellen Purcell, Eadaoin Burgess, Clodagh Walsh, Emma Owens, Anna Cully, Adam Ryan – who were accompanied by their teacher Jacqueline Cooper. Included in some pictures is Caroline O’Donovan, Nutritionist, National Dairy Council.
