In Ardscoil na Tríonóide the tutor plays an important role in the running of the school The remit of the tutor is for the most part pastoral while dealing with minor discipline issues. The school management wishes to acknowledge that this work is voluntary and based on good will and is very grateful to the busy teachers who give their time to carry out these duties.

The role of the tutor is to support the academic, personal and spiritual development of each student through consistent monitoring of progress and to liaise with subject teachers, parents and support staff.

Tasks for the Tutor include the following;

Build a relationship with each student.
Is informed of any relevant information concerning the student.
Explain the school code of behaviour on a regular basis.
Deal with minor discipline issues.
Monitor that the school journal is signed weekly.
Encourage support of and participation in the ethos of the school.
Promote class spirit and cohesion.
Play a part in student induction.
May choose to organise class trips at his/her discretion.

When do they meet?

Class Tutors will meet the Year Head for a half hour once a term.
